Non-Participant Scrolls
A scroll is a document produced for each member that is receiving
from at least one other member and is typically printed and sent
with a gift basket or mailing. It that displays a list of members that
have selected that member in the Round Robin.
A non-participating
member is one that has not made any selections..
To learn how to control the formatting of your scroll, please review the
Customize Scroll Values section.
Use this function to produce a .docx file which can be edited and/or printed or a .pdf file
that can be printed,
which displays the names of each non-participating member and the names
of the members that selected that member.
On the Customize Scroll Values window, you selected
docx or pdf as the format to produce your scrolls. The docx format
can be opened by the MS Word component of Microsoft Office, while the pdf format can be opened by Adobe Acrobat,
a free software product that you can download to your computer. The advantage of using docx format
is that after your scrolls have been created and saved on your computer, if you have MS Word, you
can open the scrolls and further tailor them, if you want to. Of course, if you don't have a copy of
MS Word then you won't be able to do that. However, you can always save the docx file to
your computer and convert it to
pdf format as a second step by going to this website http://www.doc2pdf.net/.
To save this extra step, you can set the Produce scrolls as option to pdf format and create a pdf immediately. However,
please be aware that not all fonts will be reproduced exactly, if you choose this option.
These "scrolls" can be distributed with your gift
baskets so recipients can see who chose them in the Round Robin. A
non-participating member is a member that made no selections and is receiving a scroll because at least one
other member selected the non-participating member.
In
order to print scrolls directly from the .docx file as created, you must
have Microsoft Word 2003 or greater on your pc. If you don't have
MS Word, don't worry: you can save the .docx file and convert it to
a PDF file free at website http://www.doc2pdf.net/ and then print the
pdf file that will be created for you.
